The Journey of Stork Drives
The story of Stork Drives began in 1936 when Dirk Joseph Stork founded an agency business with a clear vision: to represent leading manufacturers of high-quality electrical products.
As a family-owned company, Stork Drives steadily expanded its network and expertise. One of the key factors behind the company’s long-term success has been its ability to identify and establish partnerships with innovative manufacturers at an early stage. When Hans Stork took over the business after his father in the 1960s, the company operated through three business areas: automatic, drives and connection technology.
In the early 2000s, the connector and automation divisions were divested, allowing the company to focus entirely on motion technology. This marked the beginning of a new chapter, leading to the establishment of Stork Drives as specialist in motion control. Around the same period, Patrik Spong got the role as Managing Director, continuing the company’s development into a modern technology partner. In 2004, the company is acquired by maxon, a Swiss specialist in precision drive systems, marking another important milestone in the company’s continues development.
