Stork Drives contributed to the Volvo EX60 demo launch by enabling a striking visual illusion through integrated drive technology powering rotating wheel rims.
The EX60 Demo Launch
Volvo Cars has recently unveiled the new all-electric EX60. One of the highlights of the launch was the striking visual illusion of a stationary vehicle appearing to move, achieved by a dynamic background display and spinning wheel rims.
Stork Drives’ Contribution
We are proud to share that Stork Drives contributed to this effect: our motors, integrated into the wheel units, powered the rotating rims and helped bring the illusion to life for the launch showcase.
Technical Solution
For this unique project prototype, we supplied a maxon DT65M motor combined with TSX MAG, integrated into a wheel suspension system. This is a great example of how our drive solutions are used in advanced concepts and demo applications within automotive innovation.
”Maxon frameless DT motors are a perfect choice for automotive applications thanks to a very high torque density in an ultra‑compact, thermally efficient, easily integrated design that withstands harsh vehicle environments.” – Tolga Kilicasan, Stork Drives.
